Genre Fiction Editor

About Your Editor

Hi, I’m Taylor — a developmental editor and published author who believes strong stories are built through intentional craft, not guesswork. I work with fiction writers who want clear, thoughtful feedback that strengthens structure, deepens character, and sharpens stakes—without sanding off their voice.

I specialize in adult and YA romance, fantasy, science fiction, and paranormal fiction, helping authors navigate revision with confidence and purpose.

My Approach

I approach editing as a collaboration, not a correction. My goal isn’t to rewrite your book—it’s to help you see your story more clearly.

That means:

  • Tracking patterns instead of nitpicking
  • Explaining why something isn’t landing
  • Prioritizing what matters most in revision
  • Honoring your voice and vision

You’ll leave my edits with:

  • A clear revision roadmap
  • A stronger understanding of craft
  • Confidence in your next draft

How We Work

My Experience

I bring a deep understanding of both craft and industry to every project, with over six years of experience working in publishing and editorial spaces. My background includes internships with Creative Media Agency and Writers House, experience working with a book scout and a small press, and a Master’s degree in English. Alongside my editorial work, I hold a full-time role in marketing, which gives me a practical, business-minded perspective on audience, positioning, and long-term career strategy. I’m a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA) and an active member of the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers Association (SFWA), and I also run Futurescapes Writers’ Workshop, where I organize and lead craft-focused programs for speculative fiction writers.

Between editorial training, industry exposure, and hands-on client work, I’ve spent years inside manuscripts and publishing systems—learning how stories move from draft to book and what actually matters at each stage.

This means I don’t just give notes on your pages.

I help you:

  • Understand market positioning
  • Make strategic revision choices
  • Navigate the realities of publishing

You’re getting both an editor and an industry-savvy partner.

Why Work With Me

I’m a published author myself, so I understand what it feels like to:

  • Be deep in a messy draft
  • Second-guess every choice
  • Care deeply about your story

As an editor, I bring strong genre awareness in adult & YA romance, fantasy, sci-fi, and paranormal, I position my feedback through a reader-first lens. My clients often tell me they feel clear, empowered, and excited to revise after working together—and that’s exactly the goal.
